yoga for athletes

Yoga is an invaluable practice for teenage athletes, offering a range of benefits that go beyond just physical flexibility.

Yoga helps improve strength, balance, and coordination, all of which are essential. Beyond the physical, yoga teaches mental focus and mindfulness, helping young athletes manage stress, enhance concentration, and improve overall mental resilience. By incorporating yoga into their routine, teenage athletes can reduce the risk of injury through increased body awareness and better posture. Additionally, yoga promotes recovery, helping to soothe sore muscles and improve overall flexibility, which can prevent overuse injuries. It’s a holistic approach that supports both the body and mind, setting athletes up for long-term success in sports and life.

I have been teaching for over 10 years, and have worked with many athletes over the years. I have seen less injury, faster speeds, longer strides in running and quick recoveries for soreness. I feel it's so important for athletes to have an understanding of the body and how the ligaments, tissues, muscles, and how they all connect and work as a team.

I will travel to your school

I am willing to travel to you, work with the athletes schedules. I teach the players about their bodies and mobility, and breath work that expands the lung capacity and also calms the nervous system.

Buffalo High School Boys Swim and Dive Team

I had the honor to lead a wonderful yoga class to the Buffalo boys swim and dive team!

These boys were respectful, wanted to learn, asked questions about their bodies and muscles.

We chatted about the benefits of yoga to help with speed, recovery and the importance of breath work for anxiety!

Such a great tool for these young men! I wish every sport (and school) offered this!
